Norma Jean Heitz Rushville - Norma Jean Heitz, 93, of Rushville, passed away peacefully at 8:05 am on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. She was born on July 19, 1930, in Schuyler County, the daughter of the late Parker & Eva (Vincent) Unger. Norma Jean married Robert Heitz on November 17, 1950, at the First Christian Church of Rushville and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2013. Norma Jean was a schoolteacher for much of her working life, specializing in remedial reading. She taught school for the Schuyler County School District for more than 40 years until her retirement. She loved teaching and enjoyed her students through the years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Rushville, a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and a member of Business & Professional Women.
